Re: Main page
Hey, Tofty! (Mind if I call you that?)
We're more than willing to accommodate any changes you guys want to make with the main page, including the rebrand from Wikia to simply Wiki (or Fandom, depending on the context). We've wrestled with our concepts for the main page and at the end of the day I think the users here just kind of want to see what a fresh set of eyes could bring to it.
If you want to propose anything before editing it, please let me know via my Discord: criscoras#4067
Thank you for this!
- Cool! And yeah, most likely just simply "Wiki" - my understanding is that we're still referring to individual communities as "wikis," not "Fandoms." The important thing is to just lose the "Wikia," since it isn't part of the brand name anymore. Anyway, I'm not really the best at graphic design myself, so sometime within the next couple days, I'll float the idea to some of my fellow contributors. I just wanted to speak with you first to make sure you were on board with the idea. Thanks! ProfessorTofty (talk) 17:08, March 17, 2020 (UTC)
Hey George (if you don't mind me calling you that),
I've noticed you editing quite a bit on the wiki for the new book. I also believe you're Fandom staff, and assigned to us to help us out. Because of these two things, I was wondering if you could help me with something.
Many of the new pages are lacking proper formatting, have grammatical errors, and lack citations. I was thinking all of the pages for the new book would be a good place to start implementing the proper changes, and then can be expanded to the older pages after.
- Citing page numbers for descriptions of people, places, and things. Ex: Citing a page number for the description of a character's hair.
- Using proper tense. On Jessup Diggs' page, he's talked about in present tense, when it should be past tense. "He WAS a tribute in the 10th Hunger Games." etc...
- Making sure to use Spoiler notices in the proper sections, and using the "PrequelSeries" template instead of the original series template on TBOSAS pages.
Let me know if this is something we can organize better, and if you're able to help with this. I'm sure our administrators, Tehblakdeath and Utkar, would be able to assist as well.

Also, while I'm thinking about it, is it possible for you to track down who originally designed the new wiki design? With the new book, it'd be nice to have a less "Katniss" themed wiki, and focus more on the Hunger Games as a whole. https://area52testwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Area_52_-_A_Testing_Wiki
I designed this a while back, but it certainly needs work. I was wondering if Fandom Staff could take these basic ideas/concepts and create a new wiki Main Page and wikia design.
If not, I guess that's alright, but let me know either way.

I hope it didn't seem like I expected you to do all of those things. I was more hoping you could organize these efforts by creating a solid example/precendent with Lucy Gray's page or Snow's, perhaps. I hope that makes sense. Maybe you could work with the admins to create a guide for editing content.
I understand the concerns with citing page numbers, and after looking through some other similar wikis, I can see that isn't really the norm. I think citing a chapter number would be nice though. And we would only need to do this with descriptions of things. When describing a character's life or relationship with someone, I don't think we'd need to cite that.
As far as my design proposals go, those are more of a loose idea. I just think having a fresh design and a homepage that includes the new book would be nice.
Thanks for the reply! I appreciate all of your work!

Hello! Welcome to the wiki, I hope you've enjoyed yourself here so far.
My next course of action will be to carry on updating the Mentor pages, though I'll get started on that tomorrow. Along the way, I'll be trying to find a consistent structure for the pages.
I'm sorry about the character pages, I didn't realise it would be a top-level category. I'll keep it in mind for future updates and I'll remove them from the pages if you haven't already.

I was adding the Prequel book navbox to some pages that didn't have it yet, and i realised on supporting characters it had Livia Cardew up there. I think we should swap her out as she is mentioned a bit at the start but doesn't really do anything too significant. Dr. Gaul could be added to that section though, as she, in my opinion, is an impactful character in the book. The reason I am asking you for permission is because from what I can see you added her. Anyway, sorry for bothering you over this.
Have a good one!
