Day One: The Bloodbath[]
Levi Stone, District 2
My eyes slowly widen as I stare out into the open. The Arena. I was so shocked. I can't believe the gamemakers decided to do such a thing. . . if the games weren't completed soon, we'll all be done for. Though, I guess there's a way to survive it. There must be higher grounds somewhere. They definitely wouldn't want us all to be killed instantly by the scorching hot lava of a volcano, right? I was so mesmerized by such a thing, I barely hear the horn sound - the time for me to step off my metal plate and sprint to the cornucopia to receive a good weapon. I had already formed an alliance with Anna of my District, Excel and Bascule of District one, and Lucky of District three. We decided to wait out around the horn until the bloodbath was over and kill the weaker ones first. Bascule and Anna were already there - sifting through the weapons, Excel was running to catch up with me, and Lucky was on the other side of the horn running to the same place that we were. It was go time. When I had reached the weapons, I grabbed the bow and arrow and equipped it fast. I seeked a target, and here he was coming. The boy from District eight - Daniel was his name, I think. He didn't see me, so I aimed my arrow and released. He noticed it too late - there was no way he could stop it from piercing him in the heart - and so it did. He fell to the ground and choked a few times. When I reached him I pulled the arrow out of him; "Good luck." I smiled.
Digit Starr, District 3
My partner - yes, my own partner, Lucky, pushed me to the ground and held a knife to my neck. There was fire in her eyes. She was not the girl I knew anymore. . . and she was going to kill me. Someone from her own District. I felt as if I should just give up all hope. I mean, she's a lot heavier than me and I can't get her off. But the thing is, I can't die either. I will not let myself. All of my siblings have died here - probably in a similar position to me. I'm not letting this situation get worse for me, though. I won't allow it. With all my force, I snatch the knife that's in Lucky's hand and she cowers away. I wasn't even going to kill her. . . I'm not going to let down my District. The other Careers start to notiece what I've done to her, so they attempt to confront me. But I grab the nearest backpack and run away as fast as I can. That was a close one. . .
Kathrina Loula, District 5
As the horn sounded, I was off. I was aiming to reach the cornucopia and leave it with at least a bSourceackpack. I'm really worried. I mean, a Volcano? It could erupt at any time. . . and when it does, how will I survive? I reach the cornucopia after the career pack, but they're too busy sifting through the weapons to notice me. I reach down to grab the bag that sits at my feet, but the boy from District six shows up and gets it before me. That won't do. . . I push him to the ground and pick up a knife - fear filled his eyes as I force it into his chest. He was dead.
Azura Mellark, District 12
I sprinted as fast as I could to the cornucopia. I wanted to get some decent equipment. I was also looking out for Drake, the boy tribute from my district. We had agreed at training that we'd become allies - and that we were to meet at the bloodbath. As I drew nearer to the horn, I saw Drake and I think he saw me. "Azura!" he called out to me, "Azura, behind you!" I turned around to find a boy creeping up on me with a dagger in his hand - he looked so silly. I laughed at the sight of him and he just stared at me. I grabbed his wrists and snatched the dagger out of his hand. I wasn't going to kill him, though. I let him go. It was a rookie mistake and he'd better learn from this mistake if he wants to stay alive. "Azura, why'd you let him go?" asked Drake, panting. "I felt sorry for him. Besides, if he ends out being good in the end we could befriend him. . . we need all the help we can get." We saw the careers coming our way so we hid behind the horn. "Let's just grab something and go." I whispered, Drake nodded. When they weren't looking, I grabbed a backpack, and drake took a bow and arrow. I already had the dagger - I was rather handy with them - so I didn't need another weapon. Then we sneaked off into the direction of the forest.
Artemis Elto, District 4
I bent down to grab the axe that was at my feet. I may not make it through this one, but I better try. . . Asia, the girl of eleven attacked me while I wasn't looking. She was really good at handling a sword, but my axe was bigger. She kept aiming to stab me rather than defend herself, though, which made it extremely easy for me to hit her in the neck. Once I did, she completely froze. The sword fell from her hand and she dropped to the floor. My first kill. . . I took off the bag that was on her back and took it for myself. I guess things were going better than I thought they would. I ran off into the forest. I ran a long way - I wanted to make sure I was alone. I thought I was, so I sat down and had a rest. I had been sleeping for what felt like two hours when I woke up from a loud shout, "Look, Azura, over here!" my eyes widened, but I was so sleepy I could not see very well, "Shoot her, Drake. With your arrows." It took me a while to understand what that sentence meant - but once I had, it was too late. The arrow pierced my chest. . . and I was dead.

Day Two: The Bloodbath[]
Thunder Way, District 11 - Woods
I had to get as far away from the place as possible. I'd been running for the day. No water, no food. I followed my mentor's instructions and ran the opposite direction of the cornucopia - to save myself. He hoped that, this way, I'd last longer. But it was stupid. I'm never going to survive. I'm completely famished. I haven't eaten since yesterday morning - and I didn't eat a lot. 'Someone, sponser me!' I burst out in pain. I don't think anyone's here. It's been a day and not one cannon has fired. The capitol seal and anthem appeared in the sky, but no faces. This must be the longest amount of time that the bloodbath has been. I almost give up hope - everything. I feel as though I'm going to drop any second, I need rest. That's when I fall face down in a lake. I roll around in it for a while, so happy. I gulp it down, as much as I can hold. I have nothing to store any more in, so, because I am so far away from the others due to endless wandering, I set up camp near it. Now all I need is food. I don't have any weapons to hunt for anything. The closest thing I have is probably the rocks in the lake. . . but I am not that desperate. Yet. I almost black out when a silver parachute lands on my lap. I rip it open and find a loaf of bread I recognize to be from home. I smile. Someone is looking out for me. . .
Drake Dust, District 12 - Woods
"No cannons yet? D'you think we should go check it out, see what's going on?" asks Azura, "Maybe. . . if it goes on for any longer." I reply. It's strange - usually the bloodbath ends on the first day, rarely going into the night. But at around three in the morning? It continues? Azura shivers. It's freezing. I move closer and put my arms around her. We're both still cold, but it's better this way. I've never encountered her much before the games. But I knew she was there. I always thought, however, that she was really cool. She's the daughter of two victors! She's always had a lot of friends, always been popular. . . maybe I do have feelings for her. But are they mutual? And what will happen in the end? We both die? One of us live? If it's her. . . she'll be in a family of victors, living happily. If it's me, well, nothing. Because I have nothing. I will never be able to kill her, if it comes down to the two of us. But would she kill me? If her feelings for me aren't strong, then I guess she would. . . but what if they aren't? "I can't feel my toes." she whispers to break the silence, "I wish we had a blanket or something. . ." well, wish come true. Once she finishes speaking, a silver parachute falls in front of us. I open it up, and, inside is a large blanket big enough for the two of us. I lay it on top of us, and I fall asleep. Peacefully.
Anna Marie de Caprio, District 2 - Bloodbath
She - the District Nine girl - had no weapon, at all. Whereas I had a sword. She couldn't even last a day. . . how weak! But she was fighting with her fists. And she was really good. But she can't kill me like that. . . and one of us is dying. I kick her to the ground and rest my foot on her chest. She starts coughing up blood. I am probably pressing very hard. I slit her throat and stab her in the chest. She loses the colour in her skin as the blood oozes out of her. Dead. Definitely. I turn around to see how my other allies are doing. Excel is having a brutal fight with the boy from District nine, while the girl from District nine just sits and watches. She has an axe, but I can probably take her. She sees me eyeing her down so she throws the axe at my chest. I have no way to block it, I have not got enough time to run. To run, run before the axe sinks into my chest. Killing me. Dead. Who else didn't make it through the first day. . . me.
Iroha Jerlin, District 8 - Bloodbath
We've been here for a day. No food at all. Constant war. The bloodbath usually only lasts a day, sometimes not even that. But this. . . this is amazing. It's the careers versus the singles. No one is allied. I was hoping to be with Daniel, but they've killed him. Them. The annoying girl from District two who thinks she is so much better, stronger, and faster than everyone else. There's still a pile of weapons. Mainly the ones people don't want, so I decide to dig through it. Maybe if I find something good I can go hunting, and also look for water. There's awls - which can be handy, an axe which can also be handy, and knives. I grab one of each and attempt to slowly slip off into the woods, without being noticed. But it does not work. Lucky, a career, spots me. He tries to throw a knife at me, but I dodge with ease. He looks confused as to why I am not dead yet, and ends up walking off to finish someone else off. He obviously doesn't want people thinking he can't throw knives properly. Once his back is turned I throw a spare axe at him. He freezes in his tracks and falls to the ground. Blood. Before any of the careers notice what I've done, I run as fast as I can for woods. One thought on my mind. . . Live to see tomorrow.
Excel Rose, District 1 - Bloodbath
"We're out numbered. . ." sighs Bascule, "There's no way we can win now. We need to flee before it's too late." We can't flee though. . . we're the careers! I knew we should have asked Apollo and Artemis, the district four tributes, instead of Lucky. . . "I agree. Excel?" Levi glances at me. I shake my head, "I guess. . . but we need someone. We're not exactly threatening with only three of us. I was thinking that girl over there from district 10. I think her name is Taylor? I know it's okay one more, but it's better than what we've currently got." Bascule and Levi nod, "alright, let's go confront her." She's in the middle of fighting the girl from five, and she's winning with ease. I glance at Levi and nod. He runs up to the girl and stabs her in the back, she then falls to the ground gagging. "Come with us, Taylor. Fight with us, be a career!" she smiles, "Sure. I guess it'll keep me safe. We run toward the volcano, abandoning the cornucopia - declaring the bloodbath over.

Day 3: Mass death[]
Harris Jon, District 5 - Volcano
I had run this way to escape them. . . but no. It did not work. Here they are, ready to kill me. One would think you'd avoid the volcano? That's why I'm here. It's too late to run now, though. I'm trapped and there's no way out. I could fight. I could try to get away. But there's no hope at all that it will work. I wonder what my mother and father think of me right now. . . my real mother and father. The ones who abandoned me. . . What will they do if I come home? Accept me back for my money? No, I won't allow it. But I am so grateful for my foster parents. They took me in when they didn't have to. They fed me, cared for me, loved me. . . but it's over. All of it. As the smirking career forces the knife into my chest, the cannon fires. I am dead.
Taylor Thorn, District 10 - Volcano
"Hey, guys. . . do you think we should walk up higher? There may be water up there and I'm parched." I suggest, everyone nods. This is it. . . the time I've been waiting for. I never wanted to join the careers. No, never. They'd obviously kill me off first when it came down to us, and that won't do. So, I'm going to start a war. They can kill each other and I will just watch knowing I caused it. Once we reach the top of the mountain, the three careers peek in. It would be so easy to push them all in, but that takes away the fun. Once their heads are deeper in, I push Excel and he falls - the cannon fires. "Bascule! How could you do that? Levi, get her!" I scream, she looks confused. Once she realizes what I mean, it's too late. Levi already has a knife on her. He stabs her in the chest and throws her in - cannon. One to go. . . "I never expected she'd turn on us!" said Levi. "Yeah, me either. But you know, she didn't. I turned on you. I killed Excel." I smile, his face turns red with anger. Before he can do anything, I shove him and he falls to the ground. "This, my friend, is your end. You are going to die. The careers are not going to win this year - I am." I throw a knife to his chest. He loses all colour in his skin as blood pours out of him - cannon.
Wood Green, District 7 - Woods
So, so hungry. But no food. It was so stupid of me to run away from the cornucopia. . . now I have no choice but to steal something or eat from the plants. There's not much around me except for berries, and I'm not sure whether they're safe or not. Perhaps if I'm desperate. . . maybe. I walk around for about half an hour - when finally, the sun rises. I can see a lot clearly now. I had no sleep, because I couldn't. Not with how dreadful I am feeling. If only. . . I had. . . a drink. . . this brings me back t the berries. They have juices in them, right? They could both hydrate and full me up. But. . . what if they're deadly? I'm torn. I could either die of poisoning, hunger, or live with a full stomach. The berries give me the best option. If they are deadly, the poison won't be that painful. But if I stay her, I have the chance of being caught by the careers. As I bite into the berry, I think it's all going to be fine. Well, I was wrong.
Digit Star, District 3 - Woods
I've heard so many cannons today. . . and I wonder what happened. Did the careers go on a big killing rampage? Or is the Capitol playing with the arena, trying to weed out the weaklings that have lived this long by luck. It'd be good to have an ally. . . but who? Lucky's dead, not that I'd pair with her anyway. Perhaps the District 12 pair? I spotted them a couple of hours ago not far from here. I wouldn't stay with them for too long, though. Just long enough to get back on my feet. I've been feeling really drowsy lately because I have no ally, therefore no one to be on lookout while the other sleeps. I'm also running low on water. There's a lake, but they're surrounding it. . . and I don't want to confront them if they think I'm a threat. When I reach there hideout, I slowly walk in, drop my weapons and smile. They glance at each other trying to figure out whether to kill me or not. They girl eventually stands up and says, "Welcome to the team." She hands me a bottle of water and I gulp it all down. I take a seat next to the boy and say, "Hi, I'm Digit." he smiles and replies, "Drake. This is Azura." Drake and Azura... After an hour of getting to know each other, two silver parachutes land on my lap. I open them, and, inside is some bread and an axe. Sponsors, got to love them.
Rose DeWitt Bukater, District 6 - Volcano
Apollo. The District 3 boy. He confronted me when I was most vulnerable - and he dropped his weapons. . . why? To be my ally? Where will that get him? Wouldn't it be easier to kill me? Or. . . is he planning something? He's not witht the careers, and he should be. . . so maybe he has good instincts for this, not bad. . . two silver parachutes fall - one for me, one for him. We open it. Inside of mine, I have a dagger - in his is a sword. He drops it instantly and smiles. I turn away to hide my face as my cheeks are turning red. "Let me ally with you." he says. I reply, "Sure." He picks up his weapons and walks down the mountain with me. As we reach the bottom, we hear a loud rumbling sound. I turn around, "Oh no. . ." I whisper. Smoke. . . spewing out of the volcano. . . "Run!" I scream.

Day 4: The Volcano[]
Apollo Elto, District 4 - Volcano
Rose is screaming at the top of her lungs. We're all scared. Mayhem throughout the arena as scorching hot lava flows down the volcano. Perhaps they're trying to cut down to the top eight? Well, I'm staying alive till then, no matter who dies in the process. I had just allied with Rose. . . would it be bad of me to run off while she struggles to keep up? "Aah!" she screams, I look behind me. She's fallen and can't get up. She got herself tangled in tree roots. "Go," she sighs, "go without me! You can win if you really try! But you must go. . . now." I smile at her, kneel down and kiss her cheek, then run off. I know I was just thinking about doing this, but now that I've done it, under those circumstances, I just feel awful. I had allied with her no more than a few hours ago, then night fell, then the next day, and. . . mayhem.
Adam Beirne, District 10 - Cornucopia
I was on my way to the mountain when I heard a loud scream. I was not sure where it came from, and not one cannon came afterward. So I stood there for a minute, pondering the thought, when I smelt smoke. I didn't even know it was a volcano! And it was about to erupt. . . I was lucky to get this far, but I;m not going to last much longer. I can't run. I'm too tired and thirsty, and I have no water. I slow down from a sprint to a jog. There's no point in wasting my energy, it won't work. I'm not even that far away from it, there's no chance for my survival. As the lava flows vigorously towards me, I lose all hope. I take out my knife and stab myself in the leg. But I am still alive. I'm alive all the way until the lava reaches me and boils me up. I am dead.
Azura Mellark, Distrcit 12 - Lake in the woods
"Guys! We've got to run. Get away from the volcano!" yells Drake running into our tent. Digit and I had already worked it out, though. "We don't need to go anywhere, Drake. The lava is not going to head our way. Digit's seen enough of the arena to know that this is the only water supply. If the lava came here, there'd be no water left. And the gamemakers don't want us all to die of thirst. I'm telling you, they're going to make sure the lava doesn't go anywhere near here. The audience feeds on blood and gore." he sighs and takes a seat next to me, "Besides, they're not going to kill us off with the way we feel about eachother - the audience loves that stuff." he looks at me, confused, and says, "How we feel about each other? Does. . . does that mean you love me too?" I lean over and kiss him on the cheek, his face goes red.
Thunder Way, District 11 - Cornucopia
I dodn't even hear the lava coming. . . in fact, I didn't even smell it. If it weren't for the boy who melted in front of me, I wouldn't have gotten as far as I did. But that didn't matter, it really didn't. It was obvious I was going to die anyway, and I did. It was obvious I wasn't going to win anyway, and I didn't. If only I could've lived for longer. . . until the top eight. That would've made my family at home happy. But I didn't, and I couldn't. If it weren't for the cannon that almost blew my ears off by the sound of it, I'd be alive. I was so shocked when I first heard it, I was almost certain it was me. But this brings me back to the boy. Do you know how sickening it is to watch someone melt right in front of you? I wonder how it was for me. . . I wonder if anyone watched me. . . I wonder what my friends and family with think. . . now that I'm not coming home.
Iroha Jerlin, District 8 - Woods
Run. Run from the boiling hot lava rushing your way. Trip. Trip on the roots that surround you. Gasp. Gasp for air as you've been running for hours. Sleep. Sleep because you're tired. Drink. Drink because you are absolutely famished. Weep. Weep because you know you're not going to make it. Fight. Fight when another tribute comes your way. Try. Try your hardest even though you know it won't be enough. Fall. Fall because you're injured and can't do anything. Cry. Cry because you're in pain and no one is there to help you. Fly. Fly even though you aren't, you're just going crazy. Try. Try to get back up when you're broken on the inside and out. Die. Die because you have no energy to live. Dead.

Day 4: Almost[]
Pine Tucker, District 9 - Volcano
I came here after the lava stopped flowing because I knew no one else would dare to. I've been through so much since these games started. My ally died in the bloodbath, I almost starved, a wolf attacked me, and then the volcano. . . but will I last? Will I stay alive? Will I win? Will I go home. . . I set down my sleeping back and take a seat on it. I grab a slice of bread and start to bite out of it. I haven't eaten since the volcano began to flow. . . so it's been almost two days. It feels good to finally eat again. I'm also extremely tired too. But it may be too unsafe to sleep for long with no one to look out. Especially now there's about eight of us left. I try to remember who's around. . . there's the District twelve pair who are probably together, the girl from ten who can't be trusted as I saw he kill the careers when they were in an alliance, then there's the girl from seven who I haven't really seen much of, the boy from four who I saw abandon their ally in the woods, and the boy from three. . . I hear footsteps from a distance. I pick up my knife and see the girl from seven. Golden's her name, I think. She has no weapons and she looks very scared when she spots me. "Aaah!" she screams. "Don't scream," I say, "Ally with me." she takes a sigh of relief and sets her sleeping bag down next to mine. She offers to lookout first, so I can have a rest. I just wonder how long this alliance will last. . .
Taylor Thorn, District 10 - Woods
I've been walking for hours, trying to get as far away from everyone as possible. The games will finish soon, and I don't want to die by accidentally running into an armed tribute. The best of us are left, and we're all alert. In the distance, I hear someone singing. Rookie mistake. Looks like he lasted with luck. When I get closer, I him clearly. It's the district four boy. He can't see me as he's faced the other way. I pull an arrow from my sheath and aim. Aim. Fire. He falls to the ground instantly and the cannon sounds. I pull the arrow out of his back and wash it off with my water. I'm running low, and I'm getting really-- cannon.
Digit Starr, District 3 - Woods
"I'll be back in an hour!" I walk off to go get some food. It's been a while since we've gotten new food, and all we have left is bread. I have a bow and a sheath of arrows - which is probably enough. I hear sounds in the distance, but whether it's human or not - I do not know. I shoot an arrow in the distance and I hear a shriek - and then a cannon. Shriek. Cannon. . . there's two of them! I run towards the sound of cries and see the District nine boy, dead, being carried up by a hovercraft. Then the district seven girl clutching tightly onto him as she rises up too, alive. She's alive. . . so why is she being taken away? What are the gamemakers doing. . . what are they thinking. . .
Drake Dust, District 12 - Woods
"It's just us!" screams Digit as he storms into the tent, "there's no one else left!" Azura sighs, "It was going to come to this anyway." Digit nods, "Yeah, it was! But. . . I don't want any of us to die!" he shoves his head into his knees and starts moaning. Azura stands up, alarmed. I'm confused at first, but then I realize. The ground is shaking. Hard. Then it splits. Azura and Digit are broken off to one side, and I'm left alone on the other. "They're splitting us up!" I scream, shaking harder than ever, "Azura! Are you okay!" I can't quite comprehend what she's saying, and I'm worried. "Azura!" I scream, "Azur-" she hurls herself off the cliff and falls into the abyss that broke us apart, "I love you, Drake!" I hear her scream before the cannon fires. "AZURA!" I scream at the top of my voice. Tears flood out of my eyes as I realize my love has left this earth. Everything's over without her. I have nothing. "AZURA, I'M COMING FOR YOU!" I scream even though I know for a fact that she cannot hear me. I jump off my side of the cliff and fall. . . fall into the never ending crack in the ground. "Good luck with the games, Digit." I smile as I continue falling to be reunited with my love. Bang.
