Why fire is her weapon. Because she making a bonfire? She die because of her fire.

The District 8 female had a bonfire, yes, but that does not make it a weapon.........?
She COULD have made a torch or something of the sort to use as a weapon but she didn't....Neither in the book or in the movie. That's like saying anyone in the hunger games who made a bonfire used fire as a weapon. The District 8 female didn't use fire as a weapon, so it's inaccurate to say that she did.

Odds vs Ranking[]
There definitely seems to be a discrepancy between the the odds and rankings in the movie (eg - Thresh's odds were wrose than a lot, but his ranking was much higher). I almost think they just didn't pay attention to the odds and just randomly put them in. Her (and others) having etter odds just made no sense. --Stevehim (talk) 04:57, June 25, 2013 (UTC)
I perfectly agree with you! The odds are randomely put. The problem isn't the rankning, but the tributes' potentials. The District 8 male had 3-1, but he poorly failed the attack against Marvel (5-1), who easily killed him. GianG (talk) 15:48, July 3, 2014 (UTC)
The odds she was estimated to have were high because they judged it on her capabilities. What she placed in the games had nothing to do with her placing in the actual games. Look at Katniss. Thank you Andy, The odds are just based on your performance in the training, doesn't well depict how weel you do in the games, plus the odds are is your chances of winning, not on your capabilities.

The odds were based on Capitol people's opinion (like wroten on the page "Betting") and were the chance of surviving. How is it possible the D8 female's odds were so high and she didn't know anything about survival and nature. THE ODDS ARE RANDOM AND STOP WRITING IN EVERY TALK WHERE I WRITE.

All the book stated that she lit a fire at night, and Katniss described it as a foolish decision, your jumping to conclusion way to easily to judge someone's capabilties, when the tribute never appeared at the training in the first place. Where are the proof or evidence that the are odds are random ? Did anyone confirm it ? No. The whole training scene was in katniss's point of view, who are you to say or confirm someone's skill, talent or capabilities ? The capitol liked her performance, and her odds of winning were 5-1, the odds are the odds, you can't really argue with it.

I like the odds so much, but I also thought they are random. I like the District 8 female, but I admit she didn't know the nature, because she started the fire. Then, Glimmer killed her without problems, so I think her odds should be between 12-1 and 20-1.
Now, I'm starting to think the odds aren't random: they were based on Capitol opinions and tributes who were liked by the people had higer odds than others.
