The reason the image zooms is that the character infobox is set to automatically display an image at 190px. So if the image is smaller than that, it zooms in. -TagAlongPam (talk) 03:43, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
2 picutres were placed by Gale "Gale" Hawthorne. I deleted one that I thought was fan-made. The other, I wasen't sure.
Allied with section?
I was thinking about an allied with section.
It probably would help.
Gale's would probably read something like:
Or something like that anyway.

Should we add Gale's relationship to Hazelle and his brothers?
Mon anglais c'est trés bien... Oh wait, crap, that was french. (talk) 13:03, January 16, 2013 (UTC)
Does Gale ever speak to Katniss after the war? He moves to District 2, but that does not necessarily mean he never talks to Katniss again. After being such good friends for so long, I could not imagine them never speaking again. Yet nothing like this is mentioned in the epilogue. The book almost implies they just never see each other again, and that their friendship was severed, not just their romantic relationship. 220.127.116.11 06:56, August 4, 2013 (UTC)
Gale & Katniss Over?
I'm just thinking that in the books, Gale is said to go to District 2 with someone he is in love with. Does that mean he doesn't love Katniss anymore? Because he apparently loved her always... and did he and Katniss see each other at all after the war and rebellion? X
- It never says that. Katniss says that Gale went to District 2 and that she hopes he will find somebody he loves there. 20:51, January 11, 2014 (UTC)
Gale was a genocidal war criminal. His atrocity at the Nut meant that the survivors of district 2 will hate him forever, most of District 2 was in the Nut. It is unlikely that he will find anyone, and his bitterness will definitely turn him into a recluse. Honestly, dying alone, unloved, and unmourned is the punishment he will pay for being so hateful. The part of me that likes to see karmic justice kind of wants Gale to die alone.
So to answer your question, Gale and Katniss will never reconcile because they both up know prim would still be alive if it weren't for him.--18.104.22.168 22:22, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
You say that Gale was Genocidal War criminal, but will the geneva convention still exist in the time of the hunger games? Plus, he would not have died alone, beause he had his mother, hazelle.22.214.171.124 23:09, February 18, 2014 (UTC)
Even if the Geneva convention is not around, the standards like "Don't slaughter civilians" is timeless. Murder does not become less wrong as time goes on. Also, he is not going to outlive his mother; she will likely pass of old age before Gale does.--126.96.36.199 04:54, March 20, 2014 (UTC)
Gale did not set the bomb off, he designed them. There is a difference. Coin did all of that genocide. He still did war crimes but not to the extent you said he did. Anyways, at the end of Mockingjay, Katniss said Gale will probably and implied that he found another girl. I doubt he would die alone--hell in the first book mentioned how many girls loved him. Dont see him dying alone.
Trivia: The origin of Gale's name?
"Gale, a parcel of land leased to a Freeminer for mining, principally in the Forest of Dean, England."
Some more curious connections between the HG character of Gale and the FoD Free Miners?:
"Amongst other places, Free Miners were frequently requested to fight in France and fought throughout the Hundred Years War, most famously at the famous battles at Crecy (1346) and Agincourt (1415). Miners became used to being an essential part of the King's armoury, Dean miners were sometimes called 'The King's Miners' and 'King's Pyoneers', known generally as 'Sappers' they undermined fortifications, created earthworks, trenches, building timber structures, installing stakes etc. As well as their renowned mining skills, the miners were also excellent archers and ferocious in hand to hand combat; they were hard men, used to operating in harsh conditions. By law from 1363 all English males from 7 - 60 years old were required to practise archery for at least two hours on Sundays and festival days..."
Gale, the miner who wanted to be free, had a big hand in undermining the fortification known as the Nut.
Why did katniss dump him?
Why? Even if he designed the bomb, He didn't blow prim to ashes, Gale was not responsible, even if he did make the bomb. Coin's Hovercraft, Coins Mind, Coins Wickedness, Coins plan, Not gales, his bombs just fell into the wrong hands. Helgen (talk) 17:37, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
“That what I need to survive is not Gale's fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that.”
― Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay
I know why she married (or atleast lived with peeta) but why counldnt her and gale have been, you know, still friends, not love, peeta was the one who could give her that as was said in what suzanna wrote, but why couldnt they have still been firend (oh and why did he go to D:2, Why? did he hate his home) But yes, peeta could give her happiness and joy and rebirth a dandilion in all springs! but why could gale and katniss sill be friends? not lovers! friends!188.8.131.52 09:43, February 14, 2014 (UTC)
The short answer is that Gale murdered Prim. The long answer is that Gale allowed his thirst for revenge to turn himself into a genocidal monster who's hands are red with innocent blood. --184.108.40.206 04:55, March 20, 2014 (UTC)
Genocidal monster? Cmon you are being overdramatic.
Please stop with all the Gale hate
I am sick of everyone saying that Gale is a vicious murderer who killed Prim. He didn't freaking kill her! Yes he designed the bomb and made it but he did not set it off. It was Coin who was responsible for Prim's death. So please, stop with all the Gale hate.
