If they were on the Capitol's side, then why do they have to participate in the hunger games? Against all odds.... I am NOT a vocaloid.... DC 23:05, May 1, 2011 (UTC)

They are also a district... the capitol can't have them become carried away and lazy... the Capitol feel they need to keep all the districts in check by saying "We own you all, we can do this to your kids, make them participate in the Hunger Games."

reminded me of the Shadow Children series by Margaret Peterson Haddix- even the Barons are still affected by population control. Royal Jester 21:37, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

Cato and Clove: Couple?[]

GlimmerandSparkle 20:25, March 18, 2012 (UTC) Ok I know Cato and Clove both died In the 74 annual Hunger Games BUT if they hadn't then would they have been a couple? When Clove was dying Cato ran over to her and begged her to stay with him until he realized that she had a giant crater in her head. Maybe it's just me looking for romance everywhere I look, but it seemed like they would be together. Plus they have matching names and all, Cato and Clove. Sounds cool together:) Leave your opinion!
Cat-tee 02:13, March 19, 2012 (UTC) Maybe good friends because they trained together and thought they could survive? But definitely no canon evidence that they're a couple
GlimmerandSparkle 23:25, March 21, 2012 (UTC) What would you call 'canon evidence'? We only saw a little of them in the story and what I saw I thought was pretty good evidence myself.
Cloveandcato

I know there's a height difference but still.

Um, this is just a question, but shouldn't there be a mention of Gale moving to 2? GaleGaleGaleGaleGale!!!!! Katniss can HAVE Peeta. GALE IZ MINE!!!!!! (what? normal people are in love with fictional characters!) 11:50, March 30, 2012 (UTC)

The movie hints at Cato/Glimmer. (often seen together, Glimmer sleeping on Cato's arm.) Anything beyond that is speculation. IMHO, I think Cato sees Clove as a friend or metaphorical sister, albeit a crazy one. Royal Jester 21:37, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

I think Cato didnt like neither Clove or Glimmer. He left Glimmer to die, and he and Clove were just friends.CatoET (talk) 14:08, May 14, 2013 (UTC)

I doubt that the movie relationship between Glimmer and Cato can be seen as canon. It doesn't correlate with any information in the book. Capitolism (talk) 16:17, September 3, 2012 (UTC)

The only evidence we see of anything between Cato and Clove is how upset he was by her death, which was very.( Also his implied avenging her by killing Thresh [I'm talking about the books for the vengeance part.]) If we count the movies, Cato having a relationship with Glimmer seems more likely as they were cuddling before the Super-wasps killed her.( I know they're called TrackerJackers, but it's hard to repeat, and I know that just typing it would take less energy than explaining this.) I think Cato saw Clove as a sister, and she sadly was probably his only real family if his upbringing was as harsh as implied. In conclusion, they had a relationship, but probably not a romantic one.--98.234.2.17 07:24, October 6, 2013 (UTC)

Brutus: 52nd???[]

Where does it specify that Brutus wins the _52nd_ Games? Victors gives the range 39-44 (based on his age?) Royal Jester 21:37, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

Have you noticed that D2s tribute boys have blond hair, and girls dark? Same with skin colour. Girls have darker skin than boys. CatoET (talk) 14:21, May 14, 2013 (UTC)

Gale's Atrocities[]

I want to start this post by saying I'm not a troll by any means, and am legitimately trying to ask a question. I'm completely serious. I also feel I should mention that even though this is just a fictional story, that doesn't mean these things shouldn't be talked about.

During the siege of the nut, rebel forces tried repeatedly to attack the entrances. Gale proposed the idea of causing an avalanche to disable the nut. He still wanted to go through with this plan after learning that doing so could potentially kill all inside, due to poor ventilation. If the nut were just a fort, this might be acceptable, but it holds not only the bulk of the peacekeepers forces as well as much of district 2s vast population. He even wanted to bomb the railway that lead out of it, so insure no survivors escape. His reason for doing this is for revenge, believing that they deserve to die for not immediately supporting the uprising. This is literally a genocide, since the dictionary definition is the extermination of an entire group.

I think the rebels had the resources to simply starve them out or move around them and take the Capitol first, then forcing them to surrender afterwards. Since this plan took place, Gale is responsible for hundreds of thousands, if not millions of deaths.

This is my position, you are free to agree or disagree. I only ask that you back up your claim with evidence.

I don't know, maybe, but it doesn't really bother me. Plus I don't think the Nut had so many people inside (thought I don't know how many people lived in District 2, nor how many people there was in The Nut). But he's definitely responsible to hundreds or thousands deaths thought.

I was looking closely at leaked photo's of Mockingjay Victors column stuff, I swear I counted and saw 12 for 2. Also I saw 7 for 5, 6 for 3, I added up all the victors on the plaques, which mean't District 1 has 9. I don't know if I counted right, but I'm sure I did.
