- "Although not as wide as the Corso, Scholars Road easily held the honor guard of Peacekeepers, standing shoulder to shoulder, twenty wide and forty deep, that stepped in flawless uniformity to the rhythm of the drums."
- —Scholars Road during Arachne Crane's funeral[src]
Scholars Road was a street in the Capitol where the Academy was located.[1]
History[]
During Arachne Crane's funeral, the procession went down Scholars Road and easily held the honor guard of the Peacekeepers. Behind them came a long flatbed truck with a crane, which hoisted a bullet-ridden Brandy—the tribute who had killed Arachne. The remaining tributes of the 10th Hunger Games were shackled to the truck bed. More Peacekeepers followed, along with horses that pulled a wagon with the coffin, and Arachne's family.[2]
Panlo and Sheaf, the two District 9 tributes who were killed in the bombing of the Capitol Arena, were later draped over the backs of horses and paraded down Scholars Road during Apollo and Diana Ring's funeral. Facet, Velvereen, and Sabyn, tributes from District 1 and 2 who had attempted to escape during the bombing, were unceremoniously dragged behind. A pair of caged trucks followed them bearing the remaining tributes, separated by sex.[3]
When Coriolanus Snow returned to the Capitol after his stint as a Peacekeeper, the truck turned onto Scholars Road and drove past the Academy to the Citadel.[4]
Description[]
Scholars Road was a narrower street than the Corso.[2] It could be used to get to the Academy[1] and the Citadel. There was also a park and a bakery along the way.[4]
