Sarshee Whitcomb was a girl from District 12 who participated in an unspecified Hunger Games around the 40th.[1]
Biography[]
Sarshee was the daughter of Lyle, the boss of Haymitch Abernathy's father. Her father died of black lung, leaving her an orphan. In the same year, she was reaped to participate in the Hunger Games. With no family, Haymitch, his father and his mother pretended to be her kin so that she had someone to say goodbye to. His father told her not to let the Capitol use her.[1]
Sarshee died in the Games, as District 12 did not have any victors between the 10th and the 50th Hunger Games.[2]
Etymology[]
Sarshee's name might be a distortion of the Irish name Saoirse, meaning "freedom".
