Peter Dinklage is an American actor who portrayed Casca Highbottom in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

Prior to the film's release, Nathan Kahane, President of Lionsgate's Motion Picture Group, stated that "Peter is not just a fan favorite actor who brings a commanding presence to every part he plays. He is one of the best actors alive. He will bring a formidable, charismatic authority to the important role of the dean of the Academy." Additionally, Nina Jacobson, the film producer, stated that "Peter's magnetism, intensity and dark humor will infuse him with the intelligence, depth and pathos that the role demands."[1]

Career[]

Dinklage is best known for starring as Tyrion Lannister on the television series Game of Thrones (2011–2019), for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series a record four times.[2] He also received a Golden Globe Award in 2011 and a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2020 for the role.

Dinklage studied acting at Bennington College, performing in amateur stage productions. He made his film debut in Living in Oblivion (1995), and had his breakthrough with a starring role in The Station Agent (2003). His other films include Elf (2003), Lassie (2005), Find Me Guilty (2006), Penelope (2006), Death at a Funeral (2007), The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008), Death at a Funeral (2010), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and My Dinner with Hervé. He also provided voice-acting for the video game Destiny (2014), and in 2023 voiced a character in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Dinklage has also performed in theater, with roles including the title character in Shakespeare's Richard III (2003), Rakitin in A Month in the Country (2015), and Cyrano de Bergerac in Cyrano (2019).
