Palmyra Monty was a female resident of the Capitol and a student of the Academy. She was one of 24 top-performing seniors at the Academy selected to be a mentor for the 10th Hunger Games. She was assigned the female tribute from District 1, Velvereen.[1]
Things went poorly for Palmyra, as Velvereen tried to escape after the Capitol Arena was bombed, only to get shot by Peacekeepers.[2]
Etymology[]
Palmyra is an ancient city in Syria that was once a part of the Roman Empire.
Monty is a shortened version of the name Montgomery.[1]
Trivia[]
- Palmyra has no dialogue in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and is mentioned only on the sheet listing the names of the mentors of the tributes that appears throughout the title.
