Mrs. Lipp was an unnamed woman from District 12, implied to be the wife of Mayor Lipp and mother of Mayfair Lipp.[1]
History[]
The mayor, this woman, and Mayfair rode in their car to the hanging tree for the execution of Arlo Chance. She stepped out of the car after her husband, and the three of them formed a tight knot at the side of the platform.[1] According to Lucy Gray Baird, the Lipps were despised by the district's coal miners because of their money, power, and privilege. She specifically mentioned the Lipps riding in their "flashy car" to watch the hangings,[2] suggesting that this may have been a common occurrence.
Physical description[]
She was middle-aged, and she had dyed blonde hair.[1]
