Michael Arndt is an Academy Award-winning American screenwriter. He is best known for writing films such as Little Miss Sunshine, Wanted, and Toy Story 3. He wrote the script for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire along with Simon Beaufoy. He was one of three writers for Star Wars Episode VII, as well as an associate producer.
He wrote an initial draft of script for the film adaptation of the prequel novel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, [1] although later iterations were the work of Michael Lesslie.[2]

- He was nominated for Best Adapted screenplay for Toy Story 3. That same year, Winter's Bone was nominated, which was Jennifer Lawrence's breakout film.
- He is the first writer in history to be nominated for Best Original and Adapted Screenplays at the Oscars.
