Josh Andrés Rivera is an actor who portrayed Sejanus Plinth in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.[1]
Career[]
Rivera played Chino in Steven Spielberg's Oscar-winning adaption of West Side Story, and will next appear in Susanna Fogel's adaptation of Cat Person. He shares the screen with Nicholas Braun, Emilia Jones, and Geraldine Viswanathan. Rivera was a series lead in the HBO Max pilot Vegas High, directed by Gillian Robespierre and produced by Michael Showalter. He also performed in the original company on the first national tour of the Tony-winning musical Hamilton.[1]

- Rivera and Rachel Zegler were dating at the time they were both in The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Zegler was also his co-star in West Side Story.
- According to director Francis Lawrence, Rivera had landed the role before Lawrence ever knew about their relationship.[2]
- Lawrence also said that casting for Sejanus had to be paused so they could rewrite his character in the script, because they felt they had gotten him wrong. Rivera was among the actors who auditioned once casting reopened with the revised script.[2]
