District partner is a term used to describe the relationship between tributes who are reaped from the same district, in the same year, to participate in the annual Hunger Games.
Known district partners[]
District partners were more likely to form alliances with one another rather than with someone outside their district. However, being from the same district did not necessitate or guarantee such an arrangement. On this page, bolded pairs represent district partner alliances.
10th Hunger Games[]
This is the only Hunger Games for which all twelve sets of district partners have been named.[1] Only district partners that feature prominently in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes are listed below.
- District 2 - Sabyn and Marcus
- District 3 - Teslee and Circ
- District 4 - Coral and Mizzen
- District 7 - Lamina and Treech
- District 8 - Wovey and Bobbin
- District 10 - Brandy and Tanner
- District 11 - Dill and Reaper Ash
- District 12 - Lucy Gray Baird and Jessup Diggs
50th Hunger Games[]
For the second Quarter Quell, each district had to send twice the regular number of tributes: four from each of the twelve districts.[2][3] This makes the 50th Hunger Games the only year where a tribute would have three district partners rather than one.
- District 12 - Maysilee Donner, Haymitch Abernathy, an unnamed female, and an unnamed male
74th Hunger Games[]

Katniss and Peeta, district partners and victors of the 74th Hunger Games
On the tenth day of the 74th Hunger Games, Claudius Templesmith announced a rule change that would allow a pair of district partners to win together if they were the last two people standing.[4] At the time of this announcement, the only surviving pairs were from Districts 2 and 12.
When the Capitol later tried to retract this new rule at the final two, Katniss and Peeta threatened suicide by deadly nightlock berries. Faced with the possibility of having no victor at all, the Gamemakers allowed them both to live.[5][6]
- District 1 - Glimmer and Marvel
- District 2 - Clove and Cato
- District 11 - Rue and Thresh
- District 12 - Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark
75th Hunger Games[]
For the third Quarter Quell, tributes were reaped from the pool of existing victors,[2] so many of them knew one another going into the arena. The majority of tributes allied with their district partners, including all of those listed below. This is partially due to a large alliance of rebel victors from Districts 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 11 working in tandem to protect Katniss and break out of the arena.[7][8]
- District 1 - Cashmere and Gloss
- District 2 - Enobaria and Brutus
- District 3 - Wiress and Beetee Latier
- District 4 - Mags Flanagan and Finnick Odair
- District 6 - The District 6 female and District 6 male, also known as the morphlings (presumed alliance)[9]
- District 7 - Johanna Mason and Blight
- District 8 - Cecelia and Woof (presumed)[9]
- District 11 - Seeder and Chaff (presumed)[9]
- District 12 - Katniss and Peeta
Other Games[]
- During the 70th Hunger Games, Annie Cresta lost her grip on reality after watching her district partner get beheaded.[10]
- In the 73rd Hunger Games, the District 12 male and female were both from the Seam.[11]
Trivia[]
- All four District 12 victors— Lucy Gray Baird,[12] Haymitch Abernathy,[3] Katniss Everdeen, and Peeta Mellark[13]— were allies with their district partners.
- Katniss and Peeta were the first pair of district partners to have a joint victory.[5]
- They were also the only pair to survive the third Quarter Quell, and to survive two consecutive Hunger Games.[7]
- Cashmere and Gloss were the only district partners we know of that were siblings.[9]
- Of the twenty-four tributes in the 75th Hunger Games, only six were not known or suspected to have allied with their district partners: the pairs from District 5, District 9, and District 10, who were all left out of the rebel plan.[7]
