"Show me I haven't been wasting my time with you for four years. If history teaches you anything, it's how to make the unwilling comply."
—Professor Demigloss about getting people to watch the Hunger Games[src]

Crispus Demigloss was a history professor at the Academy. He was an old man, but was also known to be excitable.[1]

Biography[]

Before the 10th Hunger Games, Demigloss hosted a brainstorming session with the 24 mentor students to come up with ideas on how to get more people to watch the Hunger Games. When Sejanus Plinth said that they should ask the question of whether or not watching was even the right thing to do, he urged the class to stay on topic and scanned the room for a more productive answer.[1]

After that, he listened to Festus Creed's suggestion of making viewing mandatory, leading the group to brainstorm ideas as to how this could be enforced. Later, when Festus commented that he got more excited over a dogfight, especially if he was betting on it, Coriolanus Snow floated the idea that betting odds could be given to the tributes.[1]

The day after Arachne Crane's death, the mentors were scheduled to meet with Demigloss again, although nobody felt like attending. He passed out a mentor sheet complete with the names of the tributes participating in the Games, telling the mentors to use it to keep track of their progress.[2]
