Camilla was one of two female tributes from District 2 who participated in the 50th Hunger Games.[1]
Biography[]
50th Hunger Games[]
Camilla was part of the Career pack in these Games.
On Day 2, Camilla broke away from the Career pack with Loupe of District 1. The two encountered Maysilee Donner, who killed Loupe with a poison dart from her blowgun. Maysilee later believed that she may have hit Camilla as well, but if she did, Camilla survived the poison, possibly because at least one of the Careers had a bottle of the antidote in their pack.[2]
Death[]
Camilla was one of the tributes to die in the volcanic eruption on the fourth day along with the rest of the District 2 tributes, two other Careers and seven Newcomers.[2]
Physical description[]
District 2's tributes wore purple training outfits.[3]
Etymology[]
Camilla was the name of a warrior maiden in the Aeneid, which fits with both the theme of District 2 characters having Roman names, and with Camilla's Career identity. The name Camilla is the feminine form of Camillus, which is a Roman cognomen of unknown origin.[4]
