Barba was one of two female tributes from District 4 who participated in the 50th Hunger Games.[1]
Biography[]
50th Hunger Games[]
Being from a Career district, she was part of the Career alliance. After an explosion on the mountain, Barba continued to join forces with Angler and Panache Barker. They eventually encountered Haymitch Abernathy and tried to attack him. Haymitch stabbed Barba in the gut and killed her.[2] Maysilee Donner took her dagger afterwards.[3]
Physical description[]
Barba, along with the other three tributes from District 4, wore a "shimmering deep sea–blue mermaid suit" during the chariot rides.[4] Their training outfits were deep-sea blue.[5]
Etymology[]
Her name is suggestive of "barbel" or "barb," which are two names given to various fish species. The name may also be related to Barbara, which means "foreign" or "barbarian."[6]
