Androcles Anderson was a male resident of the Capitol and a student of the Academy. He was one of 24 top-performing seniors at the Academy selected to be a mentor for the 10th Hunger Games. He was assigned the female tribute from District 9, Sheaf.[1]
Biography[]
Androcles aspired to be a reporter for Capitol News, like his mother. Unfortunately, before the 10th Hunger Games even began, he was critically injured during a bombing of the Capitol Arena while giving his tribute a tour. Sheaf herself died before the Games, while Androcles attempted to recuperate in the Capitol Hospital. He was said to be barely hanging on to life.[2]
Etymology[]
Androcles is the titular character of an ancient Greek myth in which he befriends a lion, a metaphor on kindness and gratitude.
